Choose how you focus

01

Normal Mode

End early after confirmation. Actual focus time is saved; gem growth is awarded only when you finish.

02

Commitment Mode

Before ending early, read a short commitment aloud, solve a 6 × 6 Sudoku (new sessions from 1.0.1), or pause for a quiet wait. Choose one ritual before starting. Text confirmation and a timed Sudoku alternative are available.

03

Strict Mode · Pro

Stay with your session until the timer ends. Regular early exit is unavailable; a limited emergency recovery option remains available.

Common questions

The new features below apply to version 1.0.1; check the App Store for the version available to download. A 4 × 4 Sudoku already bound to an older session can still be completed after upgrading. Subsequent new sessions use 6 × 6.

How do I restrict distracting apps?

Grant Screen Time access when prompted, then select apps, categories, or websites using Apple’s picker. Set a duration and start a session, or save and enable a repeating plan.

Do I need to allow the microphone?

Starting with 1.0.1, reading verification uses on-device speech recognition only. Microphone and speech recognition permissions are requested when you choose to read aloud. If on-device recognition is unavailable, text confirmation is provided. The app does not switch to server-based recognition or send reading audio to a speech recognition server. Recordings and transcripts are not saved; recognized text is used briefly in memory to check the current commitment.

For users still on 1.0: that release offers an explicitly consented Apple speech-service path when on-device recognition is unavailable. That path is no longer available after upgrading to 1.0.1.

How do gems grow?

A completed focus session adds growth to the gem you are cultivating. In 1.0.1, completion feedback shows the focus minutes actually credited, growth added, current stage, and next growth milestone. Growth +1 does not mean a whole gem is awarded every time. Ending early saves actual focus time without the completion reward. Some gem types require Pro.

What is free, and what requires Pro?

Normal Mode, Commitment Mode, 6 × 6 Sudoku, and reading verification are free. Free users can save one plan; Pro supports additional plans. Strict Mode and some premium gems require Pro. Monthly and annual subscriptions provide the same Pro benefits.

How do the focus calendar and 24-hour distribution work?

In 1.0.1, the report calendar combines daily focus minutes and gems. Tap a date for details: the latest 7 days are available for free, or 30 days with Pro. The 24-hour distribution uses all focus history retained on your device and is available to free users too. It does not unlock daily details beyond your entitlement, and the 7-day detail limit does not mean older records are deleted.

Which gem appears on the restriction screen?

In 1.0.1, the restriction screen uses your currently selected gem. This display preference does not change focus rules, rewards, or the conditions for removing restrictions.

Why has a plan not started, or a restriction not cleared?

Check the enabled plan’s time, repeat days, selected apps, and Screen Time authorization. Reopen Lumith to refresh the current session. If the issue persists, contact us with the expected start or end time and whether your phone was locked.

How do I restore or cancel Pro?

Use Restore Purchases in Lumith with the Apple Account used to subscribe. Purchases and restores still connect to Apple services through StoreKit. Pro offers monthly and annual subscriptions. To manage or cancel one, open iOS Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Uninstalling Lumith does not cancel a subscription. Trial eligibility and current pricing appear on Apple’s purchase screen.

Where are my focus records stored?

Focus records and gem progress are stored locally on your device. The current app does not offer developer-operated cloud sync. Purchases and restores connect to Apple services; external web pages and email support are handled by their respective services. See the Privacy Policy for details about local storage, Apple services, and deletion.
