Lumith Privacy Policy
Updated: October 3, 2026
Lumith respects your privacy. This policy explains how Lumith 1.0.1 handles information and retains the speech-processing disclosure for users still on version 1.0. By using Lumith, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy.
1. Information We Process
Lumith uses Apple's Screen Time frameworks. You choose the apps, categories, and websites to restrict through Apple's system picker. The system provides opaque selection tokens; Lumith does not read content, accounts, messages, photos, or text entered in other apps.
Lumith stores your focus plans, focus duration, completion history, gem progress, role preference, Screen Time selections, and subscription entitlement locally on your device. Some selections and session state are stored in Lumith's App Group container so the main app and Screen Time extensions can work together.
2. Information Leaving Your Device
The current version does not require an account, does not provide developer-operated cloud sync, and does not upload the focus data described above to our servers. It contains no third-party advertising, behavioral analytics, or cross-app tracking SDKs, and we do not sell personal information.
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by the Apple App Store. Purchases and restores still connect to Apple services through StoreKit. Lumith uses StoreKit to receive product information, verified transaction results, and subscription entitlement status. Lumith does not receive your full payment card number or Apple ID password. Apple's own policies govern Apple's handling of that information.
3. System Permissions
The optional read-commitment ritual requests microphone and Speech access only after you choose to read. Lumith checks the commitment's ordered clauses briefly in memory. It does not retain recordings or transcripts, persist or log them, send them to developer servers, or use them for analytics or advertising. Typed confirmation is also checked in memory; neither your input nor a hash of it is saved. Only the fixed commitment version, language, verification result, and non-content attempt count may be saved to resume this ritual.
Starting with 1.0.1, reading verification uses on-device speech recognition only. If on-device recognition is unavailable, typed confirmation is provided. The app does not switch to server-based recognition or send reading audio to a speech recognition server.
For users still on 1.0: if on-device recognition is unsupported, that release allows Apple's speech service to process audio only after your explicit consent to that path. Apple's own policies govern its handling. Declining starts no recording and offers typed confirmation; a local recognition error never silently switches to Apple's network service. This path is no longer available after upgrading to 1.0.1.
Lumith does not identify your voice or record in the background. On success, cancellation, interruption, leaving the ritual, or entering an inactive/background state, it stops capture and discards its in-memory transcript. Returning to the app does not automatically restart recording.
Lumith requests Screen Time authorization only to restrict selected apps, run focus sessions, and present local usage summaries. You can revoke this authorization in iOS Settings. Features that depend on Screen Time will then stop working, but existing local records are not automatically deleted.
4. Retention and Deletion
Data remains on your device until you delete related plans or records, use an available reset option, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling normally removes data in the main app container. Removal of App Group or system-managed data depends on iOS behavior.
5. Children and Guardians
Minors should use Lumith with the knowledge and guidance of a guardian. The current version does not create online child accounts or collect children's personal information on developer servers. Guardians should choose appropriate focus rules and protect device passwords and system permissions.
6. Security and Limitations
We use Apple's sandbox, App Group, Family Controls, and StoreKit mechanisms for local data and subscription status. No local software can guarantee absolute security. Jailbroken devices, system defects, shared-device access, or changes to system settings may affect protection.
7. Updates and Contact
We may update this policy when features or data handling change. Material changes will receive reasonable notice in the app or on the product page. For privacy questions or data requests, contact the developer through the App Support channel listed on Lumith's App Store product page.
